Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the services provided by Markus IT Support ("we," "us," or "our"). By booking a working session, dropping off a device, or utilizing our website, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. General Services and Triage
Markus IT Support specializes in hardware modernization, operating system upgrades, and preventative physical maintenance. All quotes provided via our website configurator are provisional and subject to a final physical viability evaluation upon bench intake. We reserve the right to decline service if a device is deemed beyond economical or safe repair (e.g., severe liquid damage or structural failure).
2. Data Protection and Backups
Unless you explicitly purchase a Data Migration Protocol add-on, all operating system installations and solid-state drive (SSD) hardware swaps are performed as a "clean slate" deployment. The original storage drive will be securely wiped or removed.
Client Responsibility: It is strictly your responsibility to ensure you have a complete, verified backup of all your personal files, photographs, software licenses, and profiles prior to handing over your device. Markus IT Support accepts zero liability for lost, corrupted, or unrecoverable data.
3. Pricing, Deposits, and Payment
- Deposits: A standard 50% technical asset deposit is required at the time of device intake (drop-off or collection) before any physical bench work commences.
- Final Balance: The remaining balance must be settled in full (via cash or cleared bank transfer) prior to the release and handover of your completed device.
- Abandoned Devices: If a repaired device is not paid for and collected within 90 days of completion notification, it will be considered abandoned. We reserve the right to recycle or securely sell the asset to recover unpaid labor and component costs.
4. The 90-Day Hardware Warranty
We stand by the quality of our components and precision labor. All completed hardware replacements (such as SSDs and battery cells) and physical thermal servicing are covered by our 90-Day Hardware Warranty.
Exclusions: This warranty strictly covers defects in supplied parts and our installation labor. It does not cover subsequent accidental damage, liquid spills, electrical surges, user-inflicted software corruption, or pre-existing hardware failures unrelated to our specific servicing.
5. Disclaimer of Affiliation
Markus IT Support is an independent service provider. We are not affiliated with, authorized, endorsed, or sponsored by Apple Inc., Microsoft Corporation, or Google LLC. All operating system modernization and bypass services (including OpenCore Legacy Patcher) utilize official, unmodified manufacturer software. These utilities are used at the client's request to extend the life of their legally owned hardware.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, Markus IT Support shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages—including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of business, or loss of data—arising out of or in connection with our services.
7. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
